Prince of Peace is a congregation of Christian believers located just one mile off the beltway on Philadelphia Road. Since 1928, our congregation has been serving and worshipping God in Rosedale. Our mission has always been to reach out in service and love to All God's People. Historically understanding ourselves as a “Lutheran” congregation, we realize our relationship with God as grounded in the love and grace found in Christ Jesus. We hear God’s Gospel message as a transformative, inclusive call of forgiveness and hope to a weary world. The congregation takes this message and shares its ministry and programs as a way to welcome All of God’s People. If you have any questions or are curious about our congregation, the church, or the Christian faith, please feel free to contact us. We are always ready to share the Good News of God that has come into the world.
About our services
From September through June we have three Sunday Worship Services starting at 8:00 am, 9:30 am and 11:00 am. The 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services are traditional worship with choir and organ music. Each year during July and August we have a Summer Service Schedule in place. This includes a Traditional Worship service at 8:00 a.m. and at 10:00 a.m. a blended worship service, which includes both traditional and contemporary music. There is no Sunday School during July and August.
Our 9:30 a.m. service is a Contemporary casual service with modern Christian music and two contemporary music groups, Wing and a Prayer and Mosaic, who lead on their scheduled Sundays. The Fourth Sunday is "Family Church." There is no Sunday School, but the service includes a Children's Message and more kid-friendly worship. Communion is also distributed at the 9:30 a.m. service each week. Our church building is handicap accessible. We do have a second level with a chair lift available for those with special needs.
Our adult choir sings each week at alternating services. The Choir does not sing during the summer months of July and August. At 10 a.m. in July and August we enjoy a blended worship service which includes both traditional and contemporary music styles.
